About

Hi, I’m Nick.

I’m the designer behind IslandTwig Studios. I build sports identities that give teams something worth representing. Every project runs on research, gets shaped by story, and is designed to pull players, fans, and communities together.

Why sports?

Growing up, I saw what a team’s identity could do. The best ones became part of the community. Stitched onto jerseys, worn around town on the weekend, passed down for years. They gave people something to belong to.

I also saw the opposite. When I played rugby, our branding never matched the pride we had for the team. The logo was generic, the merch was forgettable, and I always wished we had something people were actually excited to wear.

That stuck with me. Today I help schools, leagues, and organizations build identities that bring people together.

I don’t design logos for sports teams. I build identities that players wear with pride, fans rally behind, and communities remember.

Let’s talk.

Open for sports identity, brand systems, and naming. Whether your team has history or is just getting started, I’d love to hear what you’re building.

Practice

Three principles behind every project.

  • Research before designEvery project starts with the team, its people, and the history it has or the one it wants to create. Strong identities aren’t pulled from a template. They’re built from a story.
  • Built for the real worldFrom jerseys and helmets to social graphics and merch, every mark is made to hold up wherever fans actually meet the brand.
  • Made to lastTrends fade. I build identities that look right today and still hold up years from now.

Background

Outside IslandTwig, I work in technical success at a software company. That work taught me to think in systems, solve messy problems, and sweat the details. The same instincts show up in every identity I design.
